Wedding trends come and go. Some are gorgeous, like the current trend for florals and cacti in flower arrangements and bouquets. Others are less enthralling — like trashing the dress. But one trend we are loving at the moment is flower boats.

Flower boats not only look beautiful and make for great wedding photos, they have a lovely symbolism as well. The bride and groom are starting their life journey together — sailing off into the future if you will.

Granted, this is not necessarily a budget wedding option. Flowers, especially with the wedding premium, are pricey. As are venues on or near the water.

If you are going to do something like this, you should use flowers that compliment your bouquet and wedding theme. You’ll almost certainly need a wedding planner if your big day includes this level of detail too. So yes, not the most practical trend either. But the photos really are lovely…
